SCHOLARSHIPS
The St. Tammany Master Gardener Association offers two distinct scholarship opportunities: the Dr. Bobby Fletcher Sr. Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors and the St Tammany Master Gardener Scholarship for current college students.
Detailed information regarding both scholarships is outlined below.
Application deadlines for both scholarships is February 28th.

Dr. Bobby Fletcher Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to high school senior

The scholarship is awarded in memory of Dr. Bobby Fletcher, Sr., a distinguished advocate for youth activities in St Tammany Parish. Sponsored by the St. Tammany Master Gardener Association, this scholarship aims to foster pursuits in the fields of agriculture and horticulture.

Eligibility Requirements :

Applicants must be graduating seniors from a high school located in St. Tammany Parish.

A minimum high school GPA of 2.5 is required. An official high school transcript must be attached to the application.

Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field of study.

The chosen institution must be a Louisiana University, Community College, or Technical College.

Applicants must complete a 300 word essay as stated in the application.

Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by February 28. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Terms of the Bobby Fletcher Sr. Memorial Scholarship :

The scholarship is awarded for one year.

The award amount ranges from $500 to $1,500 as a one-time payment.

Funds are paid directly to the scholarship recipient.

All decisions made by the STMGA Scholarship Committee are final.

The scholarship is awarded without regard to race, religion, sex, age, or disability.

St. Tammany Master Gardener Scholarship

student​

The St. Tammany Master Gardener Association offers this scholarship to assist students pursuing academic goals in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be currently enrolled and good standing at a Louisiana university, community, or technical institution.

Applicants must have graduated from a public or private high school in St. Tammany, with an official school transcript or diploma included.

Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.

Applicants must be-time students and have completed at least 24 semester hours or the equivalent.

Applicants must provide an official college transcript.

Applicants must maintain a college GPA of 2.5 or higher.

A 300-word essay as specified in the application is required.

A letter of recommendation from academic adviser, counselor, or employer is needed.

Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by February 28. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
Terms of the STMGA Scholarship:

The scholarship is for one year.

The award amount ranges from $500 to1500 and is paid directly to the Bursar.

The number of scholarships awarded will on the number of applicants meeting STMGA criteria and available funds.

All decisions made the STMGA Scholarship Committee are final.

The scholarship is awarded consideration of race, religion, gender, age, or disability.
